Echoes in Space

IMMERSIVEINSTALLATIONSOUND DESIGNSPATIAL AUDIO

An immersive sound installation exploring the relationship between architectural space and audio perception. Using a network of 16 speakers positioned throughout a cavernous industrial space, this piece creates a three-dimensional sonic environment that responds to the movement of visitors.

The composition utilizes field recordings from abandoned industrial sites, processed through granular synthesis and spatial audio techniques. As visitors move through the space, their presence triggers subtle shifts in the soundscape, creating a unique experience for each listener.

Commissioned by the Contemporary Sound Arts Festival, this installation was exhibited at the former powerhouse in Berlin for three months in early 2024.
